Now, how did I miss your blatant promotion of this new blog? No spamming by e-mail to let your faithful fans know about it?

Must be because I'm behind schedule on listening to Inside PR episodes.

Nice to hear the casual format. Looking forward to hearing more.

Can you do a celebrity interview with Tiger Woods for your next show?

Great meeting you guys this weekend at PodCamp Toronto. I love the format of the show. The not-minding-the-bollocks look and feel is awesome.

Great metaphor too. Now all I can picture are logos dripping in blood - yikes.

Cheers,
Dave

In doing the show notes, I realized that Rogers indeed does not have the blackberry lock, but I appreciate you pointing out my idiocy on that Mike I deserved it.

Otherwise thanks for listening and glad the show notes are appreciated, no actual copywriter's were harmed in the creation of our show notes.

The gloves-off nature of your show has inspired me to comment on the cell phone segment of your conversation. Boasting the largest number of subs nationwide, Rogers is arguably the most powerful Canadian cellco. Naturally, this has provided Rogers with the power to dictate exclusive arrangements with the handset providers in the past (e.g. Blackberry) and potentially in near future with the iPhone. However, contrary to Doug’s point – Rogers no longer has the Blackberry deal locked up. They did originally enjoy exclusivity back in 2000. However, that ended in 2003 with Telus and Bell gaining access to the device. Regardless, your point about the tenuous relationship between the service providers and the handset manufactures remains sound. Hopefully, the continued entrance of desirable products like the iPhone will lead way to a future model where unlocked handsets are legitimately available enabling consumers to independently select a handset and their carrier based on the their respective merits.

Incidentally, the quality of your show notes could easily lead me to believe that the two of you are actually copywriters. Considering that I have first hand knowledge of your daytime jobs, I am beginning to believe that you may have struck a deal with a desperate television writer prior to the end of the strike.
